Here we are, already in 2009 and so much has changed in the past year. A real estate market that was steaming hot now is ice cold. A market where almost anyone with good credit could easily achieve the American dream of homeownership, today many of those same buyers are facing the nightmare and threat of losing their homes to foreclosure. Borrowers who used to be offered 100% financing, today those same borrowers find it extremely hard to qualify for a loan, in spite of large down payments of 20-50%! An economy where large companies expected, nay, swore by the merits of an independent and totally free marketplace controlled and determined by the players themselves, and abhorred any kind of government intervention, went begging the government for handouts and are willingly relinquishing some control in return. Not too long ago it felt as if almost every other person was in the business of real estate either as licensed agents, buyer, sellers or some kind of contractors. Today, the industry has contracted significantly, the number of practicing contractors and real estate agents has dwindled. In order to survive in today’s economy a real estate agent and a real estate company have to be not only resourceful and resilient but also must provide the kind of services that could not be perceived a couple of years ago. Agents today have to do BPOs, “broker price opinions” for lenders and servicers about to foreclose on properties. Agents have to learn and conduct short sale negotiations, loan modification techniques and guidelines, over and above the expertise necessary to represent buyers and sellers.

And like a tall, cold glass of lemonade, Right Home strives to be a refreshing alternative to the confused, depressed and disoriented real estate marketplace.
