The Right Home Senior Program (also referred to as “The Plan”) is an extension of Right Home’s existing policy offering complimentary legal consultation to clients during a real estate transaction.

This new plan focuses on two unique areas: first, it recognizes existing problems specific to senior citizens such as exploitation and manipulation. Secondly, it addresses seniors’ particular needs by introducing and implementing extended services and safety measures that set new standards in the real estate industry.

The Background

In the housing industry, statistics show that the elderly are preyed upon more than any other group, sometimes by their own family members. The government is limited in its ability to monitor, police and protect seniors and the private sector has no incentive to self-police.

Victims of scams, fraud and exploitation are often on fixed incomes and have little to lose. If and when they realize they’ve been victimized, it’s usually too late; many don’t have the means to fight back and correct the wrong.
